Here are some basic essential tips to help your moving experience a little easier:

Step 1: Select a Moving Company

  • Check reviews and get a quote!

Step 2: Prepare for your Move

  • To make life easier don’t procrastinate and start packing as soon as you can.

  • 30 days in advance is recommended to downsize and organize your household.

  •  Label all of your boxes with a brief description of items and location.

  • This will help the movers know where to place the items in your new home.

Step 3: What to Expect on Move Day

  • If you hire Rē-lō-kāt Moving and Storage, before your move begins, the movers will do a complete “walk-through” of your home to familiarize themselves with your items and be made aware of any special needs.

  • The Clock doesn't start until we've done the walk-through and start moving your belongings and ends once we've moved all your items to the drop-off location. You're not responsible for the time it takes us to get to your pick-up location.

Insurance

It is always a good idea to contact your homeowner's or tenant insurance agent for guidance. Find out if you already have some coverage while moving. Before the movers can begin work, you will need to know which liability option you desire. You will be required to sign for that specific coverage before work starts.

We offer free minimal protection liability insurance. Under this option, the mover assumes liability for no more than $0.60 per lb, per article. Loss or damage claims are settled based on the pound weight of the article multiplied by 60 cents. The shipper is advised that it should purchase insurance to protect the goods to be transported against loss and damage. Carrier is not an insurance provider, and is not providing any insurance to be transported. Shipper understands that the value declaration on the face hereby is not insurance, but instead constitutes a value declaration that serves to limit the carrier’s liability or loss and damage.
